The Tribe in Berlin

Our last post didn't seem to spark much interest - was it the cackling? The Enland bashing?
Or just the stupid video?

Anyhoo, here's a little discovery I made while exiting our former neighborhood hippy food store.

It would seem that there's at least one other Cleveland Indian (aka the baseball team from my home town) fan in Berlin. I wonder if they're as disappointed as I am that they have lost their last FIVE games - including three to the Cincinnati Reds, their supposed in-state rivals.

Ugh.

Baseball is cricket for people with short attention spans. Which includes a lot of America.

And by the way, the French got totally robbed at Eurovision. They're song was wicked.

oops. Their. Not They're. It's sunday.

Let's just lay off the "what's baseball" and all that, okay? I've been watching the Cubs blow games to the Pirates (the Pirates!) all weekend. And listening to goddamn Bob Walk (Pirates announcer) earn his living by talking like a drunk and confused and senile and lots of other things old man. Cricket, by the way, is not a real sport, at least not the way the English play it; they are currently "having their asses handed to them" by a bunch of kiwis. I mean, uh, "really."

eurovision = bullshit
as usual

and i got that : cricket is not a sport, it's a philosophy of living

something in between nietzschean atheism and lamaism

with beer, of course

Um... I don't think that's what cricket is at all. It's a moderately amusing way to add to your sunny day beer-drinking experience, in a not-as-fast-as-baseball kind of way. Baseball on quaaludes? Or something. Anyway, After my last comments, the kiwis managed to get embarrassed by the "most crappiest sporting nation in the world." It's England v USA in football and/or soccer tomorrow at Wembley. Don't think I won't be there...

oooh. It could be a banner week for the Englsh - finishing dead last at the Eurovision. And the possibility of being beaten by the US in football! Maybe John Terry will pooch another penalty somewhere along the way.

And I like the the baseball-on-quaaludes comparison. Well done Mr. Writer Dude.

And Pierre, I love beer. There's been all of this brouhaha about rising food prices due to the increased cost of petrol, etc. kate and I had a very frank discussion last night and came to the conclusion that there will never be egg or beer rationing in our marriage. Just so you all know.
